Drupal7 customizing theme part.2
To apply the body width which a user enter, I modified the code in page.tpl.php

<div class="page-wrapper" style="<?php print theme_get_setting('body_width'); ?>"><div id="page">

I should show the code for validate the width value.

$width = $element['#value'];
if(preg_match("/(\d+)\s*%/", $width, $match)) { // Perform a regular expression match
$num = intval($match[0]);
if(50 <= $num && $num <= 100) {
return;
}
else {
form_error($element, t('The value of body width must be between 50% and 100%'));
}
}
else if(preg_match("/(\d+)\s*px/", $width, $match)){

}
else {

Drupal7 customizing theme part.1
Customizing theme is not so hard if you understand the structure of php files in theme folder.
I added the setting for the body width.
First, I added the setting of "body_width" in .info file.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
<xxx.info>
; Settings
settings[body_width] = 75%
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Then, I wrote the code which prompts users to enter the setting values in theme-settings.php.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
<theme-settings.php>
function holiday_form_system_theme_settings_alter(&$form, $form_state) {
$form['theme_settings']['body_width'] = array(
'#type' => 'textfield',
'#title' => t('Body width'),
'#default_value' => theme_get_setting('body_width'),
'#size' => 12,
'#maxlength' => 8,
'#element_validate' => array('holiday_body_width_validate'),
);
}
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After that, go to "Appearance" menu, click the setting of your theme. you'll see "Body width" setting.

Grunt: The JavaScript Task Runner
If you are building big website with a bunch of Javascript files or CSS files, you should check "Grunt". It can watch your operation. If you edit a js file or css file, it automatically add your change to a unified file. Therefore, browser just need one js file and one CSS file, you can use other files to write codes separately. That allows you to edit code easily. Then Grunt unifies all js files and unifies all CSS files

Browser issue:Firefox in Windows8
I found a small issue when I was developing a website for a project. I've already checked the website in Chrome, then I started Firefox(ver.24) in Window8.When I hovered over text, the text became bolder. The text should not be changed when it's hovered. I thought there was something wrong with font property. I change font-family property "Open Sans" to "Helvetica", it worked. However, we had to use "Open Sans" for the project. When I turned off hardware acceleration, it never happened.
In conclusion, it happened with Firefox24 in Windows8 when the text is "Open Sans" although
I can't pinpoint yet.
If you have similar issue, please try to get more info about it.

ASP.NET Roles.GetRolesForUser Method
This method can retrieve a list of the roles that the currently logged-on user is in. You must know a user can have one or more roles. If you use only one role for a user, you should retrieve array[0] as shown below.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/8ak75t41.aspx
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
public string GetRole(Guid id)
{
var userName = context.Users.Find(id).UserName;
string[] role = Roles.GetRolesForUser(userName);
return role[0];
}

David Beckham to retire
Many people including me were shocked because soccer superstar David Beckham has announced his retirement. He sure is a legendary player and one of the most popular athletes in the world. There's no one else like him even if some players win more titles than him. We are pleased to say that he's the only one superstar who can make people all around the world happy. Hope he will return to the field as a coach or manager.

Drupal7 function theme_item_list
This hook returns a list or nested list of items. You'll see this hook when you theme a Drupal block. It's very important to understand because it gives you more control over theming process.

Drupal7 Naming conventions and Classes
We must be careful not to forget the naming conventions when writing code.
https://drupal.org/coding-standards#naming
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Drupal functions :
all lowercase, with words separated by underscore (_) eg. hook_block_view()
Classes :
"CamelCase" notation, with the first letter capitalized. eg. public class TestCase
Methods :
"camelCase" with the first letter in lowercase. eg. public function setUp()
* Underscores should not be used in class or method names.

Drupal7 General utility variables
When we create a new theme of Drupal, we should know the following variable to understand the files such as page.tpl.php and template.php.
- $base_path: The base URL path of the Drupal installation. At the very
least, this will always default to /.
- $directory: The directory the template is located in, e.g. modules/system
or themes/bartik.
- $is_front: TRUE if the current page is the front page.
- $logged_in: TRUE if the user is registered and signed in.
- $is_admin: TRUE if the user has permission to access administration pages.
Site identity:
- $front_page: The URL of the front page. Use this instead of $base_path,
when linking to the front page. This includes the language domain or
prefix.
- $logo: The path to the logo image, as defined in theme configuration.
- $site_name: The name of the site, empty when display has been disabled
in theme settings.
- $site_slogan: The slogan of the site, empty when display has been disabled
in theme settings.
- $hide_site_name: TRUE if the site name has been toggled off on the theme
settings page. If hidden, the "element-invisible" class is added to make
the site name visually hidden, but still accessible.
- $hide_site_slogan: TRUE if the site slogan has been toggled off on the
theme settings page. If hidden, the "element-invisible" class is added to
make the site slogan visually hidden, but still accessible.
Navigation:
- $main_menu (array): An array containing the Main menu links for the
site, if they have been configured.
- $secondary_menu (array): An array containing the Secondary menu links for
the site, if they have been configured.
- $breadcrumb: The breadcrumb trail for the current page.
Page content (in order of occurrence in the default page.tpl.php):
- $title_prefix (array): An array containing additional output populated by
modules, intended to be displayed in front of the main title tag that
appears in the template.
- $title: The page title, for use in the actual HTML content.
- $title_suffix (array): An array containing additional output populated by
modules, intended to be displayed after the main title tag that appears in
the template.
- $messages: HTML for status and error messages. Should be displayed
prominently.
- $tabs (array): Tabs linking to any sub-pages beneath the current page
(e.g., the view and edit tabs when displaying a node).
- $action_links (array): Actions local to the page, such as 'Add menu' on the
menu administration interface.
- $feed_icons: A string of all feed icons for the current page.
- $node: The node object, if there is an automatically-loaded node
associated with the page, and the node ID is the second argument
in the page's path (e.g. node/12345 and node/12345/revisions, but not
comment/reply/12345).
